  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa — gram - rod, oxidase +, non-lactose, pyocyanin green, biofilm
  • Risk: CF, burn, neutropenic, immuno, catheter, DM, ICU
  • Syndromes: VAP/HAP, bacteremia, ecthyma gangrenosum, hot tub folliculitis, malignant OE, contact lens keratitis, IDU TV IE, sneaker osteo

  • CF: inhaled tobra / aztreonam / colistin chronic + IV exacerbation
  • DM + ear pain → malignant OE → MRI + 6-8 wk IV
  • Neutropenic + necrotic ulcer → ecthyma gangrenosum → empirical PsA cover
