• Children: S. aureus
• Sickle cell: Salmonella
• DM foot: polymicrobial
• IVDU + puncture sneaker: Pseudomonas
• Adult spine: S. aureus, TB, Brucella
• Prosthetic: CoNS (early), staph

136.2.0.2 必背 — Diagnostic

• MRI = gold imaging
• Bone biopsy = required for definitive diagnosis + culture
• Probe-to-bone test for DM foot

136.2.0.3 必背 — Duration

• Acute hematogenous: 4-6 wks IV (now often 1-2 wks IV → PO)
• Vertebral: 6-12 wks
• DM foot: 6 wks (post-debridement)
• PJI: 6-8 wks IV + chronic suppression
• TB Pott’s: 9-12 mo
