  • Typhoid Tx: ceftriaxone or azithromycin; XDR S. Typhi (Pakistan) — azithro / carbapenem
  • Typbar-TCV Vi-TT conjugate (≥ 6 mo, single, long protection)
  • NTS bacteremia + atherosclerosis = aortic mycotic aneurysm → CT angio + surgery + 6 wk
  • Sickle cell osteomyelitis = Salmonella (vs S. aureus in normals)
  • HIV + NTS = iNTS, recurrent invasive
  • 5% carrier → cipro × 4 wk OR cholecystectomy
